5-Minute Banana Oat Smoothie

A creamy, no-cook banana oat smoothie made with ripe banana, rolled oats, milk, cinnamon and vanilla. It comes together in about 5 minutes with one blender and simple pantry ingredients, and it's easy to adjust for thickness, sweetness and add-ins.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 medium ripe banana preferably frozen
  • ¼ cup rolled old-fashioned oats
  • ¾ cup milk plus more as needed
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup optional
  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter optional

Method
 

  1. Pulse oats for 5-10 seconds.
  2. Add banana, milk, cinnamon and vanilla.
  3. Add optional maple syrup and peanut butter.
  4. Blend until creamy.
  5. Adjust thickness with milk or additional frozen banana/oats.
  6. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Frozen banana gives the thickest result.
  • Pulse oats first for smoother texture.
  • Rolled or quick oats are preferred.
  • Steel-cut oats are not recommended for this no-cook smoothie.
  • Start with ¾ cup milk and adjust.
  • Peanut butter changes the nutrition.
  • Refrigerate promptly if not drinking immediately.
